In this NBG’s Speaker Series session, Jon Light, Esq. will focus on pitfalls that routinely trip up Human Resource managers, including paystub violations, misclassification of employees as exempt salaried, meal and rest break violations, use of “independent contractors” who aren’t so independent, PTO/Vacation/Sign and other benefits, reimbursement for personal expenses, handling disability issues (light-duty, return to work, discipline during, extended leaves), disciplinary procedures (warnings, probation), use of reviews as part of discipline, and documentation strategies.
